Location: City Hall with hybrid working option

Salary: £54,805 - £59,278 per annum

We are seeking a corporate finance business partner to be the key technical lead on a wide range of financial activities. The role will be value-adding with significant exposure to key stakeholders and opportunities to influence innovative and diverse projects and policies. You will be a member of the finance management team and will help us to deliver high quality financial management and a proactive business partnering approach.

You will be able to operate at a senior level and have strong technical accounting skills with a hands-on approach. Being able to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of the team will be essential. You will be keen to share your expertise of local government finance with us so that we can continue to improve the service we deliver.

You must be CCAB qualified with broad experience of working within finance in a local government setting, including the delivery of treasury management and statutory financial accounts production.

The main aspects of the role will include:

  • Managing the closedown of the council’s accounts and external audit.
  • Overseeing the delivery of strategic treasury management, statutory treasury management reporting and tax advice.
  • Providing expert technical advice on complex local authority financial issues and the implementation of accounting standards.
  • Management of the transactional finance team, including exchequer services and income reconciliation.
  • Contributing to the strategic and operational management of the finance team.
  • Supporting other corporate projects as required.

Corporate Finance Business Partner Job Description

Contract: Permanent

Location: City Hall with hybrid working option

Salary: £44,863 - £48,381 per annum (salary review pending)

The role of finance and business systems manager will develop, promote, manage and ensure the continued integrity of the corporate services systems (including Finance and HR).

The role involves being responsible for the day-to-day control and operation of the systems and owning the relationship with IT and system support consultants. The post holder will lead on the development of systems to meet the needs of the business and ensure robust and accessible reporting which maximises the use of technology.

The role involves taking the lead on projects and developments involving business systems and assessing the implications for financial information and interfaces. The post holder will need to work in partnership with IT to ensure that updates to the systems are successfully tested and rolled out in accordance with internal processes.

The successful applicant will be CCAB or AAT qualified and/or have extensive experience of financial systems and accounting. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary professional environment is essential and experience of local government financial practices would be desirable.

The successful applicant should have extensive experience of maintaining and developing financial management systems with sound experience of financial practices with the ability to analyse complex financial and business issues and offer robust and reliable professional advice.

Finance and Business Systems Manager Job Description

Contract: 2 year fixed term

Salary: £36,922 - £39,880 per annum, pro-rata

We’re looking for a qualified and talented project accountant to join the Council on a two-year fixed-term basis to work with the strategy team and service leads to provide financial support to the delivery of strategic projects.

The successful candidate will bring strong analytical and business partnering skills and provide effective customer-focused accountancy support. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships with both financial and non-financial individuals at all levels.
